Always want to Go Green? These are the easiest ways that you can turn your life around and successfully start living an environmentally friendly life.

You have probably read numerous tips before, but implementing some of those changes into your life can be quite a mission. What you need are simple, easy to follow tips that you can instantly start using in your day to day life.

Tricks to Go Green starting today

  1. No meat once a week. Did you know that the emissions of farm animals are a massive contributor to the current climate change? By lessening the amount of meat that you consume each week you are helping to cut back the number of animals bred for consumption and helping to cut back emissions.
  2. Invest in a filter. Forget bottled water, unless you are away from a source. If you are concerned about your water’s quality at home or work, install a filter.
  3. Buy biodegradable refuse bags. How many bags do you go through in a week for your house hold rubbish and do you know if these bags can be broken down naturally? It might be time for a change.
  4. Store rainwater and set up or invest in a grey water system. Collecting and reusing water will go a great way towards saving water. And there is an added bonus to this when you start saving on your water bill as well.
  5. Say goodbye to your air conditioner (within reason) by using it sparingly or investing in an eco-friendly airconditioner.
  6. Water your garden by hand instead of using an automated system which can waste water.
  7. Try to remember your reusable shopping bags so that you don’t buy plastic bags each time you buy groceries.
  8. Invest in a light timer so that you never have to worry about the lights being left on unnecessarily.
  9. Stop the mail! By switching to using email instead of paper mail, you are helping the cause and you are reducing waste.
  10. How many of us are guilty of microwaving plastic? Chemicals from microwaved plastic can leech into the air and into your food, so think twice before you do this.
  11. Start donating. Those things in your home, including old clothing that you never use, can be put to better use if you donate it. How is this part of Going Green? Well, no energy will be wasted when disposing of things you don’t need and energy will not be used creating or purchasing new clothing or household items for others.
  12. Create a compost pile in your garden where you dispose of your biodegradable waste.
  13. Bring a plant into your home, this is the easiest way to bring some fresh air into your space, and it doubles as a decoration.
  14. Have a plan when you are heading into the town or city to do a few errands. This will save you time and fuel.
  15. Cover up your swimming pool when you are not using it. By doing this you will prevent the water from your pool from evaporating which means you save by not having to top it up.
